Trax is one of the most popular crossover series from Chevrolet that is now continuing to roll on the roads for the year 2022. This model series has gathered some of the best crossover qualities and pulled them together under the same roof, to offer its users a satisfactory and near-luxurious drive and ride experience. To know, if the year 2022 has brought the Trax series with any new changes we paid a short visit to the auto gallery of the Cottonwood Chevrolet dealer, where we came to know about the following facts.
According to the most reliable sources from Chevrolet, the 2022 model year edition did not being much of a change to the Trax series, except for two things. The most prominent among them is the introduction of the new direct-injection turbocharged inline-4 engine making 155 hp replacing the earlier naturally aspirated inline-4 power unit, and the other is where the flat-folding front-passenger seat is dropped down from the current feature list.
Crossover Exclusive Features
The 2022 model year edition of the Chevrolet Trax series is still available in two trim levels, namely LS and LT, which continued from the last year edition, but the 2022 model year lineup gets a fresh new powertrain, to power the Trax models, optionally. However, the 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine with an FWD drivetrain continues to be the standard powertrain with an AWD drivetrain kept as an optional upgrade, which can be ordered at an extra cost of $620.
Coming to the feature packages, both the trims of the 2022 Chevrolet Trax, get a handful of optional features this year to offer their respective buyers. They include a Midnight Package, Driver Confidence Package, an LT Convenience package, a Redline Edition, and a Premium Seat Package, each of them giving the Trax models a certain level of cosmetics enhancements as well as higher standards of safety, as their names suggest.
For example, if you equip your 2022 Trax with the LT Convenience Package, it will enable the crossover with features like a power-adjustable driver’s seat. On the other hand, the Driver Confidence Package will add extra safety features like a blind-spot monitor, a pair of rear parking sensors, and a rear cross-traffic alert. Signing up for the Premium Seat Package will bring the 2022 Chevrolet Trax cabins wrapped in leather upholstery, and offer the occupants heated front seats, suggested the sales team leader of the Cottonwood Chevy dealer.
Spicy Performance
As mentioned earlier, the 2022 model year lineup of the Chevrolet Trax received a new 1.4-liter turbocharged Inline-4 engine this year, which equips this midsize crossover with a respectable 155 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque, replacing the earlier engine that could deliver only 138 hp. This newly introduced engine has the latest direct injection feature that gives it a boost of 12% in power and increases the torque up to 20% as well. The said engine is connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission that carries the power to the front wheels.
